O o o, check out my old website!
http://www.protrigga.com/design/annamoller/

My friend, Bela did it back in the day and it just thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Actually, it got a slot in TASCHEN's best Web Design:Portfolio book in 2004 .

Glad it still has a home on the the world wide web.

One ends, one begins

"A Portrait of Love"
Connected by the nature of things.
Do you feel it resonating?
Do you feel what I mean?

I took this in Fort Greene park last weekend.
It's a portrait of my friend Emily and her son Tai.

The beauty of sole survivors. Mother in foreground. And son close behind...

"The Tides" or "The Little Rooster and The Continental Divide" or "The Little Rooster That Could"

There is a photograph in my portfolio of a young bird.
He is standing lonely as they come
waiting on the world.

I took this photo Halloween of this year, with no one around.
No parents. No pretense. no structure. no divide.
the bird looked up at me, with staged, clear eyes. Guarded but secure. Ambivalent. Defined.
In one shot, I saw his reasoning.
In one shot I saw his sign.

Yesterday I received an email stating this:

"...in checking out your website saw a photo of my son "Reed". We nicknamed him Reedy the Rooster for his consistent ability to wake us every morning and dressed him as a rooster for halloween this year."

I thought 'how brilliant- how perfect. what a world so small'
When one figure confronts us, the other will feel the pull.

The winged things

Photo of wings are courtesy of Madeleine Moller- 2009

I just keep my memories close because thats where they like to sit, in a holster in my side pocket, in the space between my tattered jeans and sturdy hip.

A friend of mine did this piece and I think it's incredibly beautiful. Some people were born to be artists.... and reborn and reborn.

INSPIRATION

My niece, Kalina is a big inspiration to me.
Watching her dance is something else. Her hands sweep over her face in one momentary brilliant motion-- like she's been a woman on the scene for far longer than her 4 years of age might suggest.

I'm curious about that energy that lives inside. I know we all have it. Wondering sometimes where it hiding...

Another photo from the show

And the poem to accompany it...

I’m finally compelled to ask you
where you come from.
I see you under that marbled
tree
You are half of the ancient
forest
Your other half is mostly me

Come winter, the frost blows
stately
Settling in like a long stare
It carves a space for every leaf
and branch
letting memory find her way to
air

I see you in me,
Despite the thick inlay
Your song is solid, strong.
your intention is your core

Softer now, you whisper
Come, stay close by
These roots of yours are far
and wide
Time will continue to roll upon
itself
But the bounty, the protection,
the witness stays inside
